A couple of years ago the EU agreed a grant to Aschiana over four years. for general running costs.
This frees the Friends of Aschiana support an alternative project. Engineer Youssef put forward plans for developing a garden in the suburbs of Kabul, on land donated for the purpose, where young women can be trained to grow their own food. The
Friends are supporting the building of a wall around the area initially.
This is an exciting venture, and one way we could raise funds to help would be if anyone who opens their garden to the public, would be prepared to
open for an additional day for Aschiana! Is anyone out there up for it?!
