How you can help

We welcome all offers of help in raising funds or awareness for Friends of Aschiana. A small amount can go a long way.

Become a friend of Aschiana

You can become a friend of Aschiana for £6 per month. This could pay for the equivalent of one hot meal a day for a child through out the cold winter months. £11 per month pays to sponsor a child to go to school. £85 per month pays for a teacher.

This is our main fund raising strategy. Regular giving enables us to commit to funding projects for Aschiana and to plan for further future projects. It is both tax and administratively efficient. It is the most sustainable and reliable source of funding.

Working with Aschiana we identify the most needed projects that there would not otherwise be funding for. As an entirely voluntary organisation we have so far kept administrative costs to less that 1% of funds raised, and claim tax back on your donations so more that you give goes out directly to the projects.

Payroll giving

This is giving through PAYE whereby the charity receives income tax automatically on your donation.

Go to the person who runs your payroll or the HR/personnel department and ask if they have a payroll system up and running. If they do then all you have to do is fill in a simple form. If they don’t it’s very easy to set up. A company called Charities Direct will be able to set up the system very quickly and without cost. They will come to the company and explain how it all works and set up the system even if only one person wished to donate. Their phone number is 020 8951 0234.

Events

In the past, funds have been raised at a large range very small events. These have included coffee mornings, lunches, teas, talks, quizzes, concerts, sponsored runs etc.

We can provide you with information and promotional materials including a 15 minute DVD telling the story of 2 Aschiana children, cards to sell depicting painting by the Aschiana children. We can also bring a handicraft stall by arrangement. It is possible to donate any money raised via just giving where you can setup your own customised sponsorship/donation page.

Other ways to help

We hope soon to be registered on www.givebyclicking.co.uk . This website allows users to raise money for their chosen charity every time they search the internet. It uses the Google search engine and so does not compromise the search efficacy in any way. You can also raise money by using them as a portal to shop through. Shops participating in this scheme include Tesco, HMV, Currys and Debenhams. Shop through them costs you nothing extra, the donation comes through the retailers.
